Crossed by the river Saône, Gray profits from a previleged natural context where past and present combine in total harmony. French since the conquest of the province by Louis XIV, in 1674, the city developed her harbour activities to become one of first river ports of France for wines, corn and metals.
Fortunes were built and, with them, the superb residences of nature are still adding to the splendour of the XVIth century of the old center. The castel shelters the collection of the Museum Baron Martin in which we can discover a rich collection of works of art from the Antiquity to nowadays.
In Gray all useful services and essential trades are available, a pleasant camp-site at the border of the river, hotels near the river, a water complex, stopovers, an aerodrome, a library, a cinema, stroll circuits, museums and an old city center to be discovered with the company of the tourist office or on your own.
